Local bed bug specialists
ThermoPest provides specialist bed bug heat treatment in Cambridge across Mill Road, Romsey and Arbury and surrounding areas. We work with homeowners, tenants, landlords, letting agents and student-accommodation providers, treating homes, flats, shared houses, HMOs and managed accommodation with a heat-led approach tailored to the property and infestation. Cambridge has a large student and academic accommodation market, while Mill Road, Romsey and Arbury include shared rentals, flats and family housing.
Our treatments are carried out by dedicated bed bug technicians from a BPCA- and NPTA-member company. We use professional heat equipment and monitor temperatures throughout the treatment so heat reaches the areas bed bugs use as harbourage, targeting every life stage including eggs. Our heat-led treatment plans include tailored aftercare and further treatment where required. Qualifying whole-property treatments carry a 12-week treatment guarantee, subject to the terms.

How it works
Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. We place probes deep in mattresses, bed bases, upholstered chairs and skirting boards, then follow the readings live so we know each room has been held hot enough, not just warmed through.
A typical Cambridge job might be a narrow terrace off Mill Road, let as a shared house to students or researchers, with small bedrooms, plenty of books and belongings, and neighbours on both sides. We plan the heat around the clutter and the layout, and give clear preparation advice so the job runs smoothly.
Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Qualifying treatments are covered by our 12-week guarantee. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Away from the colleges, much of Cambridge is made up of tightly packed Victorian terraces. Streets off Mill Road, through Romsey and Petersfield and towards Chesterton date largely from the late nineteenth century, and many of these homes are now shared houses or flats with party walls on both sides. Bed bugs can pass between rooms and neighbouring homes in this kind of housing, so it is worth acting early.
Alongside the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University, the city’s research parks, hospitals and science businesses bring in a steady flow of researchers, visiting academics and new staff, many renting rooms for short periods. Furnished lets and frequent changes of occupant make it important to check beds and sofas when moving in.
Cambridge is also a busy destination for day visitors, language students and conference guests, with hotels, guest houses and short lets across the centre and along the main roads into the city. Newer neighbourhoods such as Trumpington, Eddington and around the station bring modern apartment blocks into the mix, where shared corridors and services can link neighbouring flats.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Cambridge starts from £895. Your quote depends on the size and layout of the property, how far the infestation has spread and how much preparation is needed. A one-bedroom flat is a smaller job than a shared house with several let rooms, and short-term lets often need the work planned around bookings.
Access counts in Cambridge, where narrow streets and parking restrictions near the centre can affect set-up. We confirm the price before we start, and qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. See our bed bug treatment prices for what is included and the full guarantee terms.
Reviews
ThermoPest sent out a team for a same-week bed bug heat treatment, and they handled multiple of my units at once.
Great communication and fast results – top-tier bed bug exterminator!

Thermopest came out to do a bed bug heat treatment, I was told it would get rid of the problem in one visit. However a few days after the treatment we noticed live bed bugs. I called Gavin and he was able to send back another set of technicians to complete a second treatment. Since then we have been bed bug free, I will give 5 star since dealing with Gavin helped the process to go well.

I had a small infestation of bed bugs at my home in Hammersmith, ThermoPest checked our place thoroughly and sorted our bug issue in one visit. 2 months later and still no issues, but having the guarantee is still helpful peace of mind.

Had a great experience with this company
ThermoPest were great from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and explained everything to be before they started the work.
They were discrete in their operation and managed to totally rid my spare bedroom of bed bugs. It’s been 3 weeks now and no sign of the bugs returning, so I would say a perfect service. Highly recommend.
