Expert Bed Bug Control in Liverpool

Our dedicated bed bug team provides specialist bed bug heat treatment in Liverpool across Toxteth, Kensington and Wavertree, working with homeowners, tenants, landlords, letting agents and student-accommodation providers. The service is suitable for homes, flats, shared houses, HMOs and managed accommodation, with treatment planned around the layout, access and extent of the infestation. Liverpool has thousands of university rooms and a large private-rental market, with shared housing and flats concentrated around areas including Toxteth, Kensington and Wavertree.

Our treatments are carried out by dedicated bed bug technicians from a BPCA- and NPTA-member company. We use professional heat equipment and monitor temperatures throughout the treatment so heat reaches the areas bed bugs use as harbourage, targeting every life stage including eggs. Our heat-led treatment plans include tailored aftercare and further treatment where required. Qualifying whole-property treatments carry a 12-week treatment guarantee, subject to the terms.

How it works

Our Proven Bed Bug Heat Treatment Process

Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. That heat reaches into the places bed bugs shelter, such as mattress seams, bed frames, sofas, skirting boards and furniture joints, so every life stage is treated at once.

A student HMO off Smithdown Road is a common example. We usually treat each bedroom alongside the shared rooms, because bed bugs travel between rooms on bags and laundry, and we place probes where they hide deepest. In a waterfront apartment or short-term let we coordinate access with the building or host. Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise.

We tell you how to prepare before the day and leave clear aftercare advice. Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight

Local Bed Bug Insights for Liverpool Residents

Much of Liverpool’s housing is Victorian and Edwardian terraces, from the tight streets off Smithdown Road and Lodge Lane to Kensington, Anfield and Walton, alongside large old houses in Toxteth and around Sefton Park that have been split into flats. Terraces share party walls and loft spaces, and converted houses share stairwells and floorboards, so bed bugs can travel between homes. City-centre apartment blocks and warehouse conversions near the docks bring shared corridors and lifts.

The University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool Hope University mean many shared houses in Wavertree, Kensington and the city centre, with tenants moving each summer and furniture often left for the next group. The waterfront, the Albert Dock, football and the city’s music heritage bring visitors to hotels, apartments and short lets across the centre. Bed bugs usually arrive in luggage, bags or second-hand furniture, so they can turn up in any well-kept home.

If you notice bites, small dark spots on mattress seams or shed skins, ask for an inspection early. A smaller problem is quicker and less disruptive to sort out.

Pricing

How Much Does Bed Bug Treatment Cost in Liverpool

Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Liverpool starts from £895. Your quote depends on the size and layout of the property, the extent of the infestation and the preparation needed. A two-up two-down terrace in Kensington or Fairfield is a different job from a six-bedroom student HMO in Wavertree or a block of serviced apartments in the city centre.

Access also counts. Flats above shops on busy roads and city-centre apartments can mean restricted parking and loading, while homes across the Wirral or out towards Southport involve more travel. We set out the price clearly before work starts, and qualifying treatments include our 12-week guarantee. See our bed bug treatment prices for what is included.

Can Liverpool City Council help with bed bugs?

Council pest control services vary and can change, so check the Liverpool City Council website for what is currently offered in Liverpool. Many people choose a specialist for heat treatment, and our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.

Who pays for bed bug treatment in a rented Liverpool home?

It depends on the tenancy and how the bed bugs arrived. Landlords are often responsible where the problem was there before the tenant moved in or comes from the building, while a tenant may be asked to pay if they brought bed bugs in. Our guide on what to do if your landlord won’t treat bed bugs sets out the next steps for tenants.

Do you treat student houses around Smithdown Road and Wavertree?

Yes. We treat shared houses let to students at the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool Hope University. Every housemate gets clear preparation advice, as all rooms in a shared house usually need to be included.

Do you treat hotels and short lets in Liverpool city centre?

Yes. We treat hotels, serviced apartments and short lets across the city centre and waterfront, arriving in discreet unmarked vans. We plan the work around your bookings and advise on which rooms to include.

Where are you based, and how long does treatment take?

We are based in London and travel out to Liverpool, planning each visit in advance. Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise.

Is your Liverpool bed bug treatment guaranteed?

Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. If live bed bug activity is found within 12 weeks, we return as set out in the guarantee terms. See our pricing and guarantee page for full details.
