Local bed bug specialists
ThermoPest provides bed bug treatment across Hampshire, from the cathedral city of Winchester to Basingstoke, Andover and the towns around Fareham and Gosport. We are based in London and travel out to treat homes, rented flats, shared houses and holiday lets throughout the county, planning each job around the property and where the bed bugs are. Portsmouth and Southampton have their own pages: see bed bug treatment in Portsmouth and bed bug treatment in Southampton.
Bed bugs are our specialist area, not one of many general pest services. We are a BPCA and NPTA member, and our bed bug heat treatment uses professional equipment with live temperature monitoring to reach adults, nymphs and eggs. We give clear preparation and aftercare advice, and qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee.

How it works
Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. Our technicians place temperature probes in the places bed bugs favour, such as mattress seams, bed frames, skirting boards and sofa joints, and watch the readings live so no room is left short.
A typical Hampshire job might be a holiday cottage near Lymington with low ceilings and thick old walls, or a three-bedroom semi in Basingstoke where the problem started in one bedroom and spread along the landing. We plan the heat room by room so every space reaches temperature, and we give owners, tenants and landlords clear preparation advice beforehand.
Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Qualifying treatments are covered by our 12-week guarantee. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Hampshire is a large county with a wide mix of homes. Winchester has narrow historic streets, Georgian and Victorian terraces and a university, so student lets and older shared houses sit close together. Basingstoke and Andover grew quickly in the post-war decades, with large estates of family homes and flats, while Eastleigh, Fareham and Havant have plenty of semis, maisonettes and newer developments. Gosport has a long naval history and many older terraces where homes share walls and lofts.
Aldershot and Farnborough have a strong army connection and a steady turnover of renters and service families. Many people commute daily on the M3 and the main line to London Waterloo, and bed bugs can come home in bags and coats from trains, hotels and workplaces. The New Forest, around Lymington and Ringwood, draws visitors all year, so holiday cottages, guest houses and caravan parks see guests coming and going.
If you have noticed bites, small blood spots on bedding or dark marks along mattress seams, act early. A small problem is quicker and less disruptive to treat than one that has spread to several rooms.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Hampshire starts from £895. The final price depends on the size and layout of the property, how far the infestation has spread and how much preparation is needed. A large detached house in a village outside Andover or a shared house with several let rooms in Aldershot takes more equipment and time than a one-bedroom flat in Eastleigh, and narrow streets or limited parking in older town centres such as Winchester can affect how we set up on the day.
Because we travel out to treat across the county, we confirm the price after a survey or a detailed conversation about the property, so you know what is included before we start. Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. See our bed bug treatment prices for what is included and the full guarantee terms.
Reviews
Really impressed with ThermoPest. The technicians were polite and professional, and the bed bug extermination in London worked first time.
Stella Ainomugisha
I didn’t end up using the service because when I called, Gavin took the time to talk me through how to check for bed bugs myself. Turns out, it wasn’t bed bugs causing the itching after all.
Every other company we spoke to seemed ready to jump straight into treatment without really assessing the situation, but Gavin was honest and helpful from the start. He shared loads of useful info over the phone, and I’m really grateful for his time. Thanks again!

After moving into a new flat in London, I started getting bites. I called ThermoPest, and they were round in no time. Their heat treatment was a game-changer—no chemicals, just pure heat to zap the pests. The lads were proper friendly and made sure I understood the process. Not a single bite since. Highly recommend!
Salaya Sanctuary
A very discreet and affordable bed bug treatment solution. They came out on a weekend and were quick to start the work, highly recommended. All sorted within a day. Amazing.

FAQs
Can’t see your question? Call 0808 189 2310 and speak to a specialist.
Pest control in Hampshire is handled by the district and borough councils, such as Winchester, Basingstoke and Deane or Test Valley, rather than by the county council, and what they offer varies. Some run a paid service and some do not treat bed bugs at all, so check your own council first. Our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.
It depends on your tenancy and how the bed bugs arrived, but landlords are generally responsible for keeping a rented home fit to live in. Report the problem to your landlord or letting agent in writing as soon as you spot signs. See Landlord Won’t Treat Bed Bugs? Your Rights as a UK Tenant for the steps to take.
Yes. We treat shared houses, student lets and HMOs in Winchester and across the county, and we work with students, landlords and letting agents. In a shared house we usually look at every bedroom and the shared areas, because bed bugs often move between rooms.
Yes. We treat holiday cottages, guest houses and B&Bs around Lymington, Ringwood and the wider New Forest. We arrive in unmarked vans and plan the work around your bookings, so guests and neighbours need not know.
Most treatments are completed within a day. You can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Larger homes and properties with heavy clutter can take longer. Read more in How Long Does Professional Bed Bug Treatment Take?
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. If live bed bug activity is found within 12 weeks, we return to treat again under the guarantee terms. See our bed bug treatment prices for what qualifies and the full terms.
