ThermoPest delivers specialist bed bug heat treatment in Shropshire throughout Shrewsbury, Telford and Oswestry and nearby areas. Our team works with homeowners, tenants, landlords, letting agents and property managers across homes, flats, rented properties and managed accommodation, using a treatment plan based on the property, infestation and access requirements.
Our treatments are carried out by dedicated bed bug technicians from a BPCA- and NPTA-member company. We use professional heat equipment and monitor temperatures throughout the treatment so heat reaches the areas bed bugs use as harbourage, targeting every life stage including eggs. Our heat-led treatment plans include tailored aftercare and further treatment where required. Qualifying whole-property treatments carry a 12-week treatment guarantee, subject to the terms.

How it works
Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. Temperature probes in mattresses, sofas, skirting boards and furniture joints give our technicians live readings throughout, so we can see when every treated area has reached and held the target.
In Telford, that might be a semi or flat on one of the town’s estates, where bed bugs usually cluster around beds and sofas. In Shrewsbury, an older timber-framed or Victorian house has more cracks, beams and gaps in floorboards, so we place extra probes in those spots and keep the heat on until they are up to temperature. Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee, and your technician will talk you through preparation and aftercare. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Shropshire is one of England’s most rural counties. Shrewsbury and Telford are its largest towns, with market towns such as Ludlow, Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Market Drayton spread across the countryside. Shrewsbury’s centre is packed with timber-framed and Georgian buildings, many now split into flats above shops, while Telford grew as a new town from the late 1960s with estates, terraces and blocks of flats.
Visitors come for Ironbridge Gorge, the Shropshire Hills and Ludlow’s food and festivals, and holiday cottages, farm stays and B&Bs see a steady turnover of guests. Bed bugs travel in luggage and on clothing, so one guest can bring them into a let that has never had a problem before.
Rural homes bring their own challenges. Older farmhouses and cottages often have beams, uneven floors and deep gaps around skirting where bed bugs can hide, and furniture from auctions and house clearances is worth checking before it comes indoors. If you notice bites, small blood marks on sheets or dark spots along mattress seams, act early, as a small infestation is easier to deal with than one that has spread to other rooms.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Shropshire starts from £895. The price depends on the size and layout of the property and how far the bed bugs have spread. A modern home in Telford is often simpler to set up than a rambling older house in Shrewsbury town centre, where narrow streets can make parking and access harder, and holiday lets with several bedrooms take longer to treat.
Travel to rural properties around Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton or Oswestry is also taken into account, and we explain what is included before you book. Qualifying treatments are covered by our 12-week guarantee. For a fuller breakdown, see our bed bug treatment prices.
Reviews
Bed bugs are definitely not the kind of present you want to bring back from holiday but unfortunately we did- even after staying in a nice hotel chain! These guys offered a guarantee and a great price so we decided to go with them. It was a great decision as it took only only visit to get rid of the issue. Worth every penny. Plus we have not needed to call them back at all. Thanks to Jamie and team for sorting.

I didn’t end up using the service because when I called, Gavin took the time to talk me through how to check for bed bugs myself. Turns out, it wasn’t bed bugs causing the itching after all.
Every other company we spoke to seemed ready to jump straight into treatment without really assessing the situation, but Gavin was honest and helpful from the start. He shared loads of useful info over the phone, and I’m really grateful for his time. Thanks again!

Moved in to a house where there were bedbugs and Jamie came round the next day to have a look. He started the treatment that day and the heat treatment came came out a few days later. They got rid of them and the lovely lady in the office also put up with my constant texts looking for advice and reassurance. Thanks a million will definitely recommend you 100%

I hired Thermopest after multiple unsuccessful attempts of having sprays with other companies. They completed the work in a single visit and I have not had an issue since. I personally think its worth the money and wish I had hired them initially. The whole team were helpful from speaking to Gavin on the phone to the team who came out to visit. I would recommend them to anyone having an issue with bed bugs. Thanks again.

FAQs
Can’t see your question? Call 0808 189 2310 and speak to a specialist.
Most of the county is covered by Shropshire Council, while Telford and Wrekin Council covers Telford. Council pest control services vary, and some charge for bed bug treatment or no longer offer it, so check your council’s website for its current position. Our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.
It depends on your tenancy and when the bed bugs appeared. Landlords are often responsible when an infestation was there before you moved in or spreads between flats, so tell your landlord or letting agent in writing as soon as you spot signs. Our guide Landlord Won’t Treat Bed Bugs? Your Rights as a UK Tenant sets out the next steps.
Yes. We treat holiday cottages, farm stays, B&Bs and guest houses around Ironbridge, Ludlow, Church Stretton and the rest of the county, and we plan the work around your bookings. We arrive in discreet unmarked vans and advise on which rooms to take out of use.
No. ThermoPest is based in London and we travel out to Shropshire, including rural villages and isolated farmhouses as well as Shrewsbury and Telford. Our technicians bring all the heat treatment equipment with them.
Most treatments are completed within a day. You can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Large or older rural properties may take longer, and we explain the plan before we start.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. A return visit is sometimes needed, and we will tell you what to look out for after treatment. See our bed bug treatment prices page for the guarantee terms.
