Local bed bug specialists
Our dedicated bed bug team provides specialist bed bug heat treatment in Gloucestershire across Gloucester, Cheltenham and Stroud, working with homeowners, tenants, landlords, letting agents and property managers. The service is suitable for homes, flats, rented properties and managed accommodation, with treatment planned around the layout, access and extent of the infestation.
Bed bugs are our specialist area rather than one of many general pest-control services. ThermoPest is a BPCA- and NPTA-member company, and our technicians use professional heat equipment with live temperature monitoring to target adults, nymphs and eggs. Our heat-led treatment plans include tailored aftercare and further treatment where required. Qualifying whole-property treatments carry a 12-week treatment guarantee, subject to the terms.

How it works
Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. Temperature probes in mattresses, sofas, skirting boards and furniture joints give our technicians live readings, so we know when every treated area has reached and held the target.
A Cotswold stone cottage near Cirencester, with thick walls, beams and uneven floorboards, needs careful placement of heaters and probes so the coolest corners come up to temperature. A flat in a converted Cheltenham townhouse or a terrace in Gloucester or Stroud follows the same process, planned around the rooms where bed bugs have been found. Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee, and your technician will explain preparation and aftercare clearly. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Bed bugs turn up across Gloucestershire, from city flats in Gloucester and Regency terraces in Cheltenham to cottages and holiday lets in the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean. The University of Gloucestershire has campuses in both Cheltenham and Gloucester, so shared student houses and rooms that change tenants every year are a regular source of call-outs.
Visitors play a part too. Hotels, B&Bs, pubs with rooms and short-term lets in Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stroud and Tewkesbury see a steady turnover of guests, and bed bugs travel easily in luggage. Many of the county’s homes are older properties with timber floors, deep skirting and lots of furniture, which give bed bugs plenty of places to hide.
If you’ve noticed bites, blood spots on bedding or small dark marks along mattress seams, don’t wait. A smaller infestation is quicker and less disruptive to treat than one that has spread to other rooms.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Gloucestershire starts from £895. Your quote depends on the size and layout of the property and how far the bed bugs have spread. A flat in a converted Cheltenham townhouse is usually quicker to treat than a shared student house with several bedrooms, while terraces in Gloucester and homes on the steep streets of Stroud can need extra planning for parking and carrying equipment.
Travel to holiday cottages around Cirencester, Tewkesbury and the wider Cotswolds is also taken into account, and we explain what is included before you book. Qualifying treatments are covered by our 12-week guarantee. For a fuller breakdown, see our bed bug treatment prices.

I had a small infestation of bed bugs at my home in Hammersmith, ThermoPest checked our place thoroughly and sorted our bug issue in one visit. 2 months later and still no issues, but having the guarantee is still helpful peace of mind.

FAQs
Can’t see your question? Call 0808 189 2310 and speak to a specialist.
In Gloucestershire, pest control is handled by the district councils, such as Gloucester City Council, Cheltenham Borough Council and Stroud District Council. Services vary, and some councils charge for bed bug treatment or no longer offer it, so check your council’s website for its current position. Our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.
It depends on your tenancy and when the bed bugs appeared. Landlords are often responsible when an infestation was there before you moved in or spreads between rooms or flats, so tell your landlord or letting agent in writing as soon as you spot signs. Our guide Landlord Won’t Treat Bed Bugs? Your Rights as a UK Tenant sets out the next steps.
Yes. We treat holiday cottages, B&Bs, pubs with rooms and short-term lets across the Cotswolds and the rest of Gloucestershire, and we plan the work around your bookings. We arrive in discreet unmarked vans and advise on which rooms to take out of use while we treat.
No. ThermoPest is based in London and we travel out to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean. Our technicians bring all the heat treatment equipment with them.
Most treatments are completed within a day. You can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Larger cottages or shared houses with several let rooms may take longer, and we explain the plan before we start.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. A return visit is sometimes needed, and we tell you what to look out for after treatment. See our bed bug treatment prices page for the guarantee terms.
