ThermoPest is a BPCA- and NPTA-member company, and our technicians use professional heat equipment with live temperature monitoring to target adults, nymphs and eggs. Our heat-led treatment plans include tailored aftercare and further treatment where required. Qualifying whole-property treatments carry a 12-week treatment guarantee, subject to the terms.

How it works
Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. Temperature probes in mattresses, sofas, skirting boards and furniture joints give our technicians live readings, so we know when every treated area has reached and held the target.
A typical Chester job might be a flat in a converted Victorian house close to the city walls, where bed bugs hide in bed frames, behind skirting and around old floorboards. The same approach works for a commuter semi in Wilmslow or Macclesfield and a rented terrace in Crewe or Warrington. Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee, with clear preparation and aftercare advice from your technician. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Chester is one of the best-known historic cities in the North West, with its Roman walls, the Rows and black-and-white timbered buildings, and it draws visitors all year round for the racecourse, the zoo and short breaks. Hotels, guest houses and short-term lets there see guests arriving and leaving constantly, and bed bugs travel easily in suitcases and bags.
Further east, towns such as Wilmslow, Macclesfield and Knutsford have quick rail links into Manchester, while Warrington sits on the West Coast Main Line between Manchester and Liverpool. Busy trains, shared offices and overnight work trips all give bed bugs a chance to hitch a lift home in a coat or a laptop bag.
Housing across the county ranges from Victorian terraces in Crewe and Northwich to newer estates and large detached family homes. Rented terraces and shared houses change tenants regularly, and older homes with timber floors and plenty of furniture offer lots of places to hide. If you notice bites, small blood marks on sheets or dark spots along mattress seams, act early, as a small infestation is quicker and less disruptive to treat.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Cheshire starts from £895. Your quote depends on the size and layout of the property and how far the infestation has spread. A flat in central Chester can mean extra planning for parking and carrying equipment through busy streets, a larger detached home in Wilmslow or Macclesfield has more rooms to heat, and HMOs in Crewe or Warrington often need several bedrooms treated at once.
We explain what is included before you book, whether you are a homeowner, landlord or accommodation provider. Qualifying treatments are covered by our 12-week guarantee. For a fuller breakdown, see our bed bug treatment prices.
Reviews
Recently had my flat heat treated in London against bed bugs, from start to finish they were professional and got the job done. Thank you Gavin and the team.

I hired Thermopest after multiple unsuccessful attempts of having sprays with other companies. They completed the work in a single visit and I have not had an issue since. I personally think its worth the money and wish I had hired them initially. The whole team were helpful from speaking to Gavin on the phone to the team who came out to visit. I would recommend them to anyone having an issue with bed bugs. Thanks again.

Really impressed with ThermoPest. The technicians were polite and professional, and the bed bug extermination in London worked first time.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt I had to for ThermoPest because of how stressful our situation was. We started noticing bites a few weeks ago in our London flat and after some late night Googling I realised it was most likely bed bugs. At first, I tried sprays and washing everything, but nothing worked. It was honestly overwhelming – especially with kids in the house so I reached out to ThermoPest for help.
From the first call, they were professional and reassuring. They explained their bed bug heat treatment in London and how it kills all life stages (eggs, larvae, and adults) in one visit. The technicians turned up on time, were polite, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. They carefully moved furniture, set up their heaters, and kept me informed throughout the process.
The difference has been night and day. After the treatment, we’ve had zero bites and could finally sleep again without worrying. I really liked that it was a chemical free method too safe for kids and pets, which was a big deal for us.

FAQs
Can’t see your question? Call 0808 189 2310 and speak to a specialist.
Cheshire is covered by Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council, with Warrington Borough Council for Warrington. Council pest control services vary, and some charge for bed bug treatment or no longer offer it, so check your council’s website for its current position. Our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.
It depends on your tenancy and when the bed bugs appeared. Landlords are often responsible when an infestation was there before you moved in or spreads between flats, so report signs to your landlord or letting agent in writing as soon as you spot them. Our guide Landlord Won’t Treat Bed Bugs? Your Rights as a UK Tenant sets out the next steps.
Yes. We treat hotels, guest houses and short-term lets in Chester and across Cheshire, and we plan the work around your bookings. We arrive in discreet unmarked vans and give clear advice on which rooms to take out of use and how to check the rooms either side.
No. ThermoPest is based in London and we travel out to Chester, Crewe, Macclesfield, Warrington and the towns and villages in between. Our technicians bring all the heat treatment equipment with them.
Most treatments are completed within a day. You can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Larger detached homes may take longer, and we explain the plan before we start.
