ThermoPest provides specialist bed bug heat treatment in Kent for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, hotels and accommodation providers, with local coverage including Canterbury, Maidstone and Medway. We treat bed bugs in homes, flats, rented properties, hotels and visitor accommodation, adapting the treatment plan to the property layout and the areas where activity has been found.
Our treatments are carried out by dedicated bed bug technicians from a BPCA- and NPTA-member company. We use professional heat equipment and monitor temperatures throughout the treatment so heat reaches the areas bed bugs use as harbourage, targeting every life stage including eggs. Our heat-led treatment plans include tailored aftercare and further treatment where required. Qualifying whole-property treatments carry a 12-week treatment guarantee, subject to the terms.

How it works
From student houses in Canterbury to family homes in Ashford and Maidstone, our approach in Kent is built around heat. Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C.
Take a Victorian terrace in Chatham or Rochester that has been split into flats: bed bugs often sit in skirting boards, floorboard gaps and the furniture of more than one room. We place sensors in those spots and keep the heat on until every reading holds above 50°C, and where flats share walls we advise on checking the neighbouring flat too.
Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Kent has a bit of everything when it comes to bed bugs. The Medway towns of Chatham, Rochester and Gillingham have long rows of Victorian terraces, many now split into flats, where bed bugs can travel along shared walls and floor voids. Canterbury’s student houses change hands every year, and second-hand beds and sofas often move with them.
Along the coast, Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Whitstable and Herne Bay mix older seafront buildings with guest houses and holiday lets that see a steady turnover of visitors through the summer. Dover and Folkestone are the main crossing points to France, so suitcases and coach luggage are worth checking after a trip, as are bags used on the high-speed trains into London.
In the villages of the Weald and the North Downs, older cottages and farmhouses have thick walls, beams and deep cupboards that need careful planning to heat evenly. If you spot bites, small blood spots on sheets or dark marks along mattress seams, act early: a small problem is quicker and less disruptive to treat.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Kent starts from £895. The final price depends on the size and layout of the property, how far the bed bugs have spread and how easy it is to get our equipment in. A two-bedroom flat in Maidstone, a shared student house in Canterbury with several let rooms and a large detached home near Ashford are all quoted on what is actually there.
Access and travel matter too: a flat above a shop on a Folkestone high street or a terrace with tight on-street parking in Medway needs more planning than a house with a driveway, and rural villages can add travel time. Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. For a clear breakdown, see our bed bug treatment prices.

Moved in to a house where there were bedbugs and Jamie came round the next day to have a look. He started the treatment that day and the heat treatment came came out a few days later. They got rid of them and the lovely lady in the office also put up with my constant texts looking for advice and reassurance. Thanks a million will definitely recommend you 100%

I can’t thank ThermoPest enough for their incredible bed bug removal service. We had been dealing with bed bugs for weeks, and the stress was unbearable. Every night felt like a battle, and my family was losing sleep. Gavin and his team were a breath of fresh air. They explained the process thoroughly, and the heat treatment was completed within a day. It’s been weeks now, and we haven’t seen a single bed bug.

Had a serious issue with Bed Bugs in our flat in Hackney. We’d tried sprays and powders ourselves with no success. Called ThermoPest and Gavin came out to assess the situation. The heat treatment was done in one day and we haven’t seen a single bug since. Absolutely worth the money for peace at mind. Thanks again Gavin!

FAQs
Can’t see your question? Call 0808 189 2310 and speak to a specialist.
Pest control in Kent is handled by the district and borough councils, such as Canterbury City Council, Medway Council, Thanet District Council and Dover District Council, rather than Kent County Council. Services vary and change over time, so check your own council’s website for its current position. Our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.
It depends on your tenancy and when the bed bugs appeared. Landlords are often responsible for an infestation that was there before you moved in or that is spreading through a converted house, so report signs to your landlord or letting agent in writing straight away. Our guide on what to do if your landlord won’t treat bed bugs sets out the next steps.
Yes. We treat shared houses and student lets used by students at the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church. In a house with several let rooms we usually treat the whole property, because bed bugs move between rooms on bags, bedding and furniture.
Yes. We treat guest houses, holiday lets and small hotels in places such as Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Whitstable and Folkestone, and we plan the work around your bookings. If you have just come back through Dover or the Channel Tunnel and spotted bites, our guide to checking and treating your luggage is a good place to start.
No. ThermoPest is based in London and we travel out to homes and businesses across Kent, from Medway and Canterbury to Thanet, Dover and the Weald. Our technicians bring all the heat treatment equipment with them in discreet unmarked vans.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. A return visit is sometimes needed, and we explain what to look out for after treatment. See our bed bug treatment prices page for the full guarantee terms.
